The Social Services Program aims to both train new intermediate staff needed in the organization and implementation of social services and to improve the qualifications of individuals who are currently working in the field of social services but have not received academic training on the subject.
Our goal as Şırnak University Cizre Vocational School is to ensure that our graduates serve as team players and leaders equipped with the idea of social justice and meticulous work ethics in the institutions they will work, taking into account the current needs of the sector.
Graduates of the Social Services Program can take on various roles in many public institutions, privately owned social service enterprises or in the social service provision of civil society organizations. They can work as social service assistants in institutions and organizations primarily under the Ministry of Labor, Family and Social Policies, hospitals affiliated to the Ministry of Health, Guidance and Research Centers affiliated to the Ministry of National Education, Employment Agency, State Planning Organization, Rehabilitation Centers, Schools for the Blind and Deaf, Nurseries and Daycare Centers, Nursing Homes, Prisons and organizations related to population planning. In addition, graduates who wish to continue their education by transferring to four-year Social Services or Sociology departments with the Vertical Transfer Exam.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Degree Earned: Students who graduate from this program are entitled to receive an Associate Degree.
Student Admission Requirements: Student admission to the program is carried out through exams and placements organized by ÖSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center) in accordance with the relevant regulations and directives determined by YÖK.
Associate degree students who graduate from vocational schools are placed in undergraduate programs through the Vertical Transfer Exam if a Vertical Transfer quota is opened.
International student admission is carried out within the framework of the regulations determined by the university senate among candidates who have applied to the university and meet the conditions to benefit from the international student status and the minimum admission qualifications.
Graduation Requirements: Students who fulfill the requirements specified in the Şırnak University Associate and Undergraduate Education-Teaching and Examination Regulation and complete the courses required to be taken in the registered program with a GPA of at least 2.00 are eligible to graduate.
Recognition of Prior Learning: The recognition of courses taken outside of Şırnak University is carried out within the framework of the Şırnak University Exemption and Adaptation Procedures Directive and with the approval of the boards of directors of the relevant faculties, vocational schools or institutes.
Measurement, Evaluation and Grading: In this program, measurement, evaluation and grading are carried out within the framework of the Şırnak University Associate and Undergraduate Education-Teaching and Examination Regulation.
Transition to Advanced Programs: Students who complete this program can apply to undergraduate programs.
